The studio is really in my bedroom. When my parents moved in, we gave them the master bedroom while we moved into the playroom. My oldest daughter moved into my study so the toys could be distributed to the girls rooms. My son had most of his toys in his own room since he is the only boy. So, the playroom turned into our bedroom but had all of the books, papers, and stuff from the study as well as some books and games left over from the playroom.
We moved into the playroom in January, I think. Then, we spent much of the rest of the months cleaning out the toys in the playroom to make room for all the other stuff from our bedroom. Then when my parents moved in, we had boxes piled up along this little nook in our bedroom. I spent over a week clearing it out. I purged. I tossed. I organized. And, now, here's my studio.
I took this from the doorway. It's not very, very neat. I'm not a very, very neat person. I can be very organized and definitely so mentally, but clutter has always been a problem for me. I can live with this. Ben will be pleased to see the carpet there.
My cutting mat. I need to get started cutting soon.
This wall needs some shelves to hold books, notions, and other sundry items. I also want a wall rack for thread.
My serger.
And, my new machine! I finally opened it and played with it. I just LOVE it. Look at all those stitches. I wanted an embroidery machine as well, but I think this is enough for now. If I end up doing more than I think, then I'll get one. Otherwise, I have friends (I'm looking at you, Cecelia).
And, guess what this is? It's a pleater I've borrowed from a ballet mom. I am planning on making some romantic tutus with this.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour of my studio. I hope to put it to use soon.
