MCP--This is for You!!

I wanted to write to you MCP to let you know I have pictures to upload.  However, sick children, trips to the ER, and packing, I've been a bit lax in coming here.  I want to tell you about all the things we saw on vacation.  It was a lot of fun.  Maybe someday we can all go on vacation together.  What do you think?  Anyway, we wish we were seeing you this year, but rest assured we will see you next year.  Either y'all can come here or we'll come there.  Or we'll do both!!  Love to you and your family.

Diagnosis...

Honey woke up from a nap with abdominal pain.  She's been sick with a stomach virus all week.  It worried me.  She was rolling around on the ground whining away.  I checked her stomach and it was distended and she was very uncomfortable.  I packed a snack, gathered the children and off we went to the ER.  Diagnosis?  Gas.  After a few toots, she was feeling much better--just in time for the doctor to call us in.  At least she got a clean bill of health.

Perversity

Papa once told me that his grandmother once called him perverse.  Apparently, he could be the most contrary child.  Well, that particular trait seems to have emerged quite well in the children today.  I have so much packing to do, but none is done.  The children would not leave me alone when I would try to work, but I decided to stop and just sit on the sofa.  All four of them decided they had better things to do.  I fell asleep.  For 30 minutes.

On the Mend

Boy, the kids are finally on the mend.  Honey is much, much better.  I know she is because she hasn't stopped talking.  That's a sure sign that she's feeling up to speed.  We had a minor crisis of no water yesterday, but it's been taken care of.  It was rather difficult though having children in the tail end of a stomach virus with toilets that didn't flush.  As the management company told me, I could always run out turn the water on (as it gushes out of the pipe near the sprinklers) then turn it off when we're finished flushing and washing our hands.  Luckily, the plumbers were stellar in their service and came out late yesterday to fix it.  My kudos to Cove Plumbing for going the extra mile for us.

Just Tuckered Out

Honey had to receive IV fluids today.  She was on the cusp of dedhydration so the pediatrician decided it would be to her benefit to receive it.  She hated it.  "My blood hurts."  was her cry the whole time (they pulled some blood first from the IV site).  After about 45 minutes of fluid, and a bathroom break, the doctor thought she had had enough.  I didn't see any difference in her demeanor, but we left and returned home.  Well, after a hearty lunch (the first in days), she was energized.  She played nonstop for 2 1/2 hours until she was just plain tuckered out.

Back from Vacation

Well, we're back, but battling a stomach bug.  Honey has it now and pretty badly.  She's been listless for a while, but as I type this, she's up and about.  I hope I can get more food into her today.  I think Sister started the chain of events then Pumpkin.  Honey's has been the worst case thus far.  Brother does not have it yet.  Please pray that it doesn't hit him yet.

Going on Vacation

Everyone, we are headed to Colorado for a much anticipated vacation.  I will be offline for a while.  I would appreciate prayers for our drive there and back as it is a long one.  My love to you all.
